Cheaper #Review Options

We've all heard of places like Net Galley. I've been reading for months and months how authors group up and divide the cost and then try to list their books there, because, the truth is, if your publisher isn't picking up the cost for you, many independent authors simply can't afford it to have no idea how many reviews they'll actually get off the money spent.

So, while we can't manage, at this point, to have it all as neatly set up as Net Galley and some other bulk review listing sites, we can make pricing more manageable.

Next month there will be a blog style reviewer option available. Here are the current details {subject to change as we see how trial and error works}.

  • We cannot promise how many reviews you will get or how long it will take reviewers to post them
  • We will be asking for reviews to be placed: Amazon, B&N, Smashwords, and their blog, if they have one. Again, we can't promise they will post to all locations.
  • We will also ask that they cross promote on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, LinkedIn, StumbleUpon, Triberr, and/or any other social networks they use. Again, we can't promise they will, but they will be asked to.
  • We will keep a list of books sent out. This will be forwarded to you monthly or bi-monthly.
  • All reviewers requesting copies will be consenting agreement that the ebook copy is for review only and they are not to transfer or share their copy. Can we guarantee it? No {and neither can anyone else}. However, if we find a reviewer is sharing, they will be permanently removed from out listings.
  • Until we can determine how growth is, all books will be sent out via email request. So, they'll look at the site, determine which titles they'd like, email a request with the titles, and then they will be sent out to them. No more than 2 titles can be requested at once during the reviewer probation period.
  • We cannot guarantee you a positive review. All we can do is promise to promote you book listing in our title catalog. They will be asked for honest {non-bashing} reviews.
  • Since we will be in trial phase, the first THREE months will be at NO CHARGE at all. After 2 months we should know the direction we need to go and the changes we need to make.
  • Currently, everything will be in 3 month intervals. So, once everything is sorted, options will be 3 months, 6 months, 9 months and 12 months. At this time, THREE months is the ONLY option. Shortly before expiration, you will be contacted with any new details and given the option to continue on or to opt out.
  • We ask that if you are an author or reviewer, you help us spread the word about this affordable way to get book reviews.
  • Please watch for the upcoming post about the blog title and link along with the email address.
  • There will also be a post upcoming about how to get your books listed as well as how to be one of our reviewers.
  • We have no way to control what books will be reviewed or any control over {example: one book getting 100 reviews in a 30 day period as another gets 15 and another none at all}. This is out of our control. All I can say is that we will add more and more reviewers as opportunities present themselves.
  • Remember, this is the trial phase and we'd love for you to be a part of it - but Rome wasn't built in a day. So it will take work :-)
